On June 12, the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization recognized 19 individuals and programs for excellence in service to hospice. Spirit of Hospice Awards were presented for exceptional leadership in end-of-life care in the community. Hospice Team Awards were presented to 16 individuals and programs for outstanding service to hospice agencies, patients and families. Team Award winners were chosen from agencies’ nominees by a team of hospice leaders unassociated with any nominee. Winners represented virtually all hospice disciplines, including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, counselors, volunteers, and many administrative specialties
